Checkout Error on Fairy Wings Listings is Now Fixed

No more having to type 3 periods to checkout!

Screenshot of the Fancy Fairy Flash Sales page showing 6 sets of fairy wings with 2 sold out

Hey fairies! I've fixed an error in the checkout page that wasn't allowing a lot of payment methods such as Shop Pay, Apple Pay, etc. to be used.
This spring I was getting a lot of bot traffic on my checkout page, causing a ton of shipping calculations that was making me nearly max out on my Boxify shipping app subscription, so I implemented their suggested fix of requiring customers to put 3 periods into the optional 2nd address field.
BUT the pop up was telling people to put the periods 'above', which there was no field for, causing confusing and I'm sure for some causing them to give up on purchasing.
I also had no idea when I did this, that it would hamper any payment methods.

So I've now completely deleted that prompt for entering 3 periods and am using a different Shopify app to deal with bot traffic and scraping that won't interfere with anyone trying to make a purchase.

I'm sorry if you've encountered this, but the good news for you is that there are still 4 sets of wings from the recent drop available, as well as the cannabis fairy wings, on my Flash Sale page here: https://fancy-fairy-wings-things.myshopify.com/collections/flash-sales

New Fairy Wings and Summer Update

Fairies, I'm so sorry to keep you all waiting so long for new wings!
These wings are all ready to ship, and will list on Tuesday Aug. 25 at 8pm PDT.

Sorta long update ahead with sale info, and my statement about gen AI use in the wing making world.

Iridescent fairy wings in purple, pink, teal and black have wavy antennae & upward curving tips, worn on a dress form, front view

I'll have 2 painted sets this time, one is the Angeline wings in bold purples & blacks with touches of pink and teal laminated with the Diamond Fire film and black veins (above). They will be $459 plus shipping.

The other painted set is the Elora design again, below, this time with a sort of deep teal / blue as the main color with purple & fuchsia accents on the Ultraviolet film with black veins. They will be $449 plus shipping.

Transparent iridescent blue, fuchsia and violet fairy wings with black veins, 3 panels on each side, bottom panels have tails that curve inward at the bottom. Worn on a dress form, front view

Then there's the Verena design in clear Diamond Fire with black veins, which will be $235 plus shipping.

Transparent iridescent fairy wings with wavy tips and black veins, worn on a dress form, front view

I’ll also have the Elora in clear Opal with gold veins for $259 plus shipping (below).

Transparent iridescent blue fairy wings with gold veins, 3 panels on each side, bottom panels have tails that curve inward at the bottom. Worn on a dress form, front view

I might also have a repeat set of Lyra or Lilian designs as well.

They will be listing on Tuesday, August 25 at 8pm PDT, and as always will be on my Flash Sale page here: https://fancy-fairy-wings-things.myshopify.com/collections/flash-sales
Remember, they won't show up until the start time.

I've also finally found a way to record all my brush strokes in Photoshop in the background just like Procreate does! It's an extension called PixelRec Pro.
I usually forget to record any of my painting because I'm just focused on getting the work done, and with a screen record there's so much dead time in there while I'm sitting staring at the screen trying to decide where the next color goes or whether I like what I just put down.
This way I don't have to be so focused on recording and it only records actual activity.
I didn't find out about it until I had already gotten some painting done, but I wasn't totally happy with it so this video below shows where I started re-doing it all the way to finished.

The beginning shows the brush stroke re-play of my sketch for this wing design in Procreate on my iPad. I took video from my phone so I could also show you I don't have any hidden layers I'm tracing, since I know Procreate has that function in its brush stroke replay videos. Photoshop and PixelRec do not.

No part of my wings are gen AI!

I really want to make it crystal clear that I am not using gen AI for my work at all.
There's some wing makers who use it openly (at least in the Etsy listings they disclose it), like moon.moth.wings, and others who certainly seem to use it and have many people in the comments asking if gen AI was used or flat out accusing them of it with no replies disputing that from the artist, like Fairykill_Creations.
I've seen many also now printing either existing butterfly / insect wing photos, clipart stock, and what I'm pretty certain are gen AI designs on clear plastic with wires glued on the upper edge of the panels, such as thewingsua, who also was selling copies of my Titania wings without permission before I reported them on Etsy.
That's a common trajectory, to at first only fabricate wings using nature images, purchased images or stolen ones printed on either fabric or plastic, until gen AI came out and then all of a sudden their style completely changed, with super detailed 3D looking art on them after gen AI image tools such as MidJourney came out in 2022.

Then there's a whole other crop of wing makers now who are using cut files sold by ATP Textures, who was called out in the last couple years by other wing makers for allegedly copying their designs, which is why you may be seeing many different new wing shops selling the same looking wings. They also use gen AI for some of their digital products, so I'm assuming they might also be using it for their digital wing designs they sell too.
Though I experimented with gen AI early on it was only for fun before I knew about the extent of water usage & artist exploitation, to test it to see if it was reproducing my work for legal purposes, and to see for myself how it actually works as well as how to recognize it if I see it, since the AI detectors are sadly not accurate enough. They too often provide false positive results, which can be really damaging to legitimate human artists’ livelihood.
I wish it had stopped evolving before it got too good at creating photo realistic results, before companies started laying off workers in favor of using gen AI instead. If it had stayed weird & funky with obvious defects like extra fingers & hair merging with clothing, it wouldn’t be as problematic & disruptive to the market as it is now. Not to mention, the rapid expansion of AI data centers producing awful noise and pollution especially in marginalized communities
There’s a lot I could say, about areas of nuance and my criticisms of some of the staunchest anti-AI activists & the way they sometimes cause harm when publicly ‘witch hunting’ people they think are using AI without allowing for the possibility that they got it wrong, but this blog post would be miles long.

Bottom line, I've always taken pride in creating my own original, human made unique fairy wing designs since 2003 (I made my 1st set for myself in the 1990’s) and I plan to keep it that way. As far as I know I was the first to put iridescent wings with cut metal vein structures on the market as well as the first to come out with convertible versions of them.

One last thing, I'm so sorry I didn't post about the light up and crystal encrusted Titania wings I made recently for an order, I was stressing about other things going on in my life that I forgot. But I've posted a video of them on Insta and FB if you'd like to see:

I may make a separate post about those sometime.

BRAND. NEW. FAIRY WINGS! Dropping Monday, 6/29/26 at 8pm PDT

3 brand new designs from my 2025 registered collection are making their debut!

Transparent iridescent violet fairy wings with gold veins, 3 panels on each side, bottom panels have tails that curve inward at the bottom. Worn on a dress form, front view

I'd like you to meet Elora, Angeline, and Verena, the 3 new designs that will be debuting next week.
Elora (above) is one of my favorites of the new designs, and I decided to give her a simple & subtle paint job in stripey and freckled purples with just a touch of teal on the tips. Lots of clear areas allow the transparency & iridescence of the Ultraviolet film to show through.
I think this paint scheme with the UV film gives them an especially ethereal and delicate appearance that I really like, and I'm calling this colorway 'Shy Violet'.
The veins are metallic gold. Pricing these slightly lower than normal since they didn't use a ton of ink at $449 plus shipping.

Transparent & iridescent fairy wings with blue shine and gold veins have antennae & upward curving tips, worn on a dress form, front view

Then we have the Angeline, above, laminated in Opal film and gold veins for $249. She is an offshoot of my old classic Azarelle design that’s also incorporated in simpler form into my logo.

Sheer green iridescent fairy wings with wavy tips and gold veins, worn on a dress form, front view

The Verena wings (above) will be $239 plus shipping and are laminated in the Patina Green iridescent film, also with gold veins.

I may have a couple repeat sets, and if I can fit them in they will be the Lyra wings in their original smaller than standard size in Opal with gold veins and the Lilian wings in Baby Blue with gold veins.

To confirm, the flash sale will be Monday June 29 at 8pm PDT at this link:

The Return of Fancy Fairy Wings in Second Life™

*There’s an update to one of the infringement stories further below about Fairyzette Sahara, who released one of the aready reported designs yet again, further down this page.

It’s been over 5 months that I’ve been quietly working nights & weekends to learn Blender and make proper mesh animated fairy wings in Second Life, and they are now complete!
Below is a quick peek at them in one of the colors (from the gender queer flag) from the Pride edition.

They aren’t ‘my’ flag colors - those would be the demi / ace, but this matched my Magnolia dress from Caverna Obscura too perfectly!
The Pride flag inspired pack of Iridescent Teasel 3.0 Bento Fairy Wings is now available, exclusively at the Androgyny Event at an introductory price through July 28!

25% of each sale of these is automatically donated to Second Pride & the It Gets Better non profit.

Here’s the product photo for ya

The essentials pack is also available there, as well as at my in world store and Marketplace. They cost 50L less in world, and current pricing of $350L is a lower introductory price.
Find them at the MP here:

Here’s the vendor image for them:

These are 100% original mesh and design. You may have seen this design on the grid (and a whole lotta places online) from people who've copied them in various forms without my permission, but I created this design way back in 2008 for SL and RL.

I made wings, clothes and skins back then before I dipped out for years due to outdated hardware & life struggles.

In 2017 I made some wings that used the bento bones and animations I made in Blender, but the wings themselves were flexi prims because I was so attached to the way flexi prims move in SL. But now I’m calling them ‘franken-flexi’ because of the issues that crop up with them - they required specific body heights & didn’t work for all avatars, and the big square prims would have a lot of alpha glitch with other partially transparent items, which was way more noticeable when a whole square area is glitching.

This time, I worked my fairy butt off nights and weekends learning how to make a proper mesh in Blender and made my own wing rig that allowed me to animate the upper and lower wing panels separately. Something I wish was possible in real life!
I also had help from an old SL friend, Siyu Suen of Illusions to get me up to speed on Blender and other things I needed to know about SL along with a lot of encouragement. I don’t know if I could’ve done it without her!

Here’s video of the animation HUD that’s included with the wings so you have a lot of control over what they’re doing:

My designs have often been copied without permission in SL

Many of my designs have been copied in Second Life, some ripped right from my SL wings and others used my RL wing photos as their designs & textures. Some made their own mesh but still copied the design itself rather than come up with something on their own.
This Teasel design was copied vein for vein a few years ago & became a best seller, by Aenea Christensen, who admitted to copying them but was still terrible about it all, and has been lying about me and the situation. Now on the changed version they state that their previous edition was ‘removed due to a malicious DMCA report’.
That’s pretty laughable seeing as how they’d already admitted to copying mine, specifically the veins, which is literally the core of the design. I had left comments in response to the claim that it was ‘malicious’ as I was upset they were lying about the situation, and this below was their response.

These days I wouldn’t bother to interact at all with an infringer’s content this way, and give the facts if necessary in my own space instead such as my own blog. Maybe I shouldn’t have left a review at all, I can acknowledge that. But it’s still upsetting to think someone is out there lying about my business & possibly harming sales when they were the ones to do something illegal.
Their links to wings they claim are the same were literally nothing at all like my Teasel design, but I’m sure they tell people I copied a nature design to deflect. They may be generally similar to fly wings, but there’s no duplicate of these in nature.
I’m also SO tired of the argument “you can’t copyright fairy wings” as if I’m trying to claim ownership of every single fairy wing out there, which I’m absolutely not. It’s a strawman argument I get all the time when people have no other good excuse.
I know, there’s the whole ‘you shouldn’t care what other people say about you’ but when it comes to someone’s reputation as a creator selling their art, especially when they’re just returning to the market & having to compete with people selling copies, I’d say it does matter.

Brands who’ve copied multiple wing designs

My Colette wing design was even offered as full perm in SL by Les Sucreries De Fairy, with only the inner veins changed a bit, but the unique outer profile was fairly exact. That shape is specific. They were also selling wings that copied pretty exactly the outer shape of my Fauna wings, and exact copies of my Acorn wings, and some that copied a lot of the outer shape of my Nimue wings. I sold the Nimue wing in SL, they might still be in my in world shop, and the others are all newer wings whose photos are always watermarked by me whenever posted anywhere online. You can see them for yourself if you click on the design names.
So the fact that they were selling that many copies of my wings is not cool. I reached out after reporting a couple of them and asked her to remove the remaining ones & not to copy mine or anyone else’s wings again. Although she did remove the remaining wings I never got a reply or an explanation at all.
This was the notecard I sent her in April, it mentions the Elida wings being removed already (the Acorn fairy wings copy was in that costume pack) but there must have been more of them or she did not delete them completely from her MP because LL sent me confirmation of removal.

The lack of an explanation or apology and the number of designs they copied, one of them full perm plus the size of their store and prevalence in many in world market events, warrant mentioning IMO. If I bought a stolen design I’d want to know myself.
Their latest wings look like they could be using someone’s photo as a texture but I don’t know that for sure, so take that with a grain of salt. If anyone sees more copies of additional designs please let me know. Below are screenshots of the copies except for the Nimue, which I didn’t grab screenshots of in time. They might still be in her Flickr somewhere, the texture inside was like a bright mozaic.

Update Oct. 7 2025, Fairyzette made the bad decision to make a few small changes to the copy of the Acorn Fairy Wings and released them AGAIN for the We <3 Role Play October event. I’ve fully documented everything that went down here.

I've also recently discovered my Pansy, licensed Amy Brown Bubble Rider, Bee fairy, and Nimue wings sold by Cherry Evergarden of Enchanted Delights & had them all removed via DMCA. As you can see, she used my actual photos and in the case of the Nimue wings she even used my texture from the SL wings I sold. These screenshots will show today’s date in the metadata because I originally took a PDF screenshot of the listings as it captured the entire page that way, but that won’t work for posting to this blog. I never heard from them, they simply relisted the costumes with different wing designs.

I also found my photos of my Painted Small Lizette wings copied & used as a wing texture sold by Faunus, and they used my Fly fairy wings photo for wings in an event hunt.
This was really disappointing, as I had admired their work and they’re a pretty well known brand for fantasy costuming & accessories in SL for fairies. I took a chance & reached out to them on Facebook to ask for removal since the hunt item would be tough to report. They replied and apologized, and they did remove the items.
Then they asked if I’d let them continue selling them & give me a percentage of sales. I politely declined, and after they acknowledged that, they blocked me. I appreciate that they did remove the content and apologized, but why on earth did they block me? That soured things when we could have possibly carried on as professional acquaintances & I was even planning on buying some of their outfits had they left things at the apology without blocking.
But not now. That’s a deal breaker for me, being blocked after getting caught infringing is always a bad sign leaves no room for trust. I don’t think I said anything that warranted that. Receipts below.

All these infringements may cause confusion to the customer who will question which one is the original, especially if the infringer sweeps it under the rug without notifying their audience of their removal. There are only a couple instances where they more than made up for things & even paid me without me asking, so all is forgiven and I won’t ever need to mention them.
I’ve never received a penny from any of the rest, most never bother with an apology either.

I am a staunch supporter of copyright, and creating something brand new is the fun part for me, so you won't find purchased stock photos or art in my wing work. I also don't enjoy using designs straight from nature as much as I do creating a fantasy design, so wearing my wings means you won't have the same stock designs that many other creators offer.

I may dabble in drastically re-texturing & styling full perm mesh clothing for fairies to go with my wings while I'm still working on my mesh skills, since making fitted mesh clothes from scratch seems like some kind of torture I can't wrap my brain around yet, but I'd have to be sure they're reputable & will state who the mesh is from if that happens.

I hope to populate my store in the coming months with more new wings, to bring all the fairies back to SL.

SHEIN Lawsuit Settled

I'm happy to report that the lawsuit between SHEIN and myself has been amicably settled out of court.

Thank you for all your support, especially the Doniger / Burroughs firm for handling this issue for me. I highly recommend their services if you're an artist with an IP case you need help with.

Ch-ch-ch-changes to the Fairy Wing Shop

Well fairies, I’ve been missing a big glitch on product pages!

Well! I didn't realize for a while that the Add to Cart button was glitching out in my Shopify store! I noticed this week that it disappeared whenever you go to a product page & wouldn't pop back up again until 6 or 7 full seconds, which may have led people to assume they were sold if they scrolled all the way down the description to see if maybe it was at the bottom and probably leaving the page after. *forehead slap*
I'd contacted customer support and was told that my site theme was too old & needed to be replaced with a newer one for the button to work as it should, and, for the payment installments notice to also be visible.
Here I was, all this time thinking that was being made available to everyone since I did activate installment payments roughly a year ago - but when I noticed the cart button issue I noticed the installments banners & notices were also not there.
Fairies, it has now been fixed. Please, if you notice any weird bugs in the future I'd love to be informed so I can address it faster.
I would like to clean the home page up further, and I will, but for now at least things are working as they should.

There are still 2 made-to-order wings left, the Cosettes - like the ones in the photo above - and the extra large Ellette wings which have been heavily discounted from the previous price of $675 down to $600.
The ready-to-ship Cosette wings have also been discounted from $595 to $559 to make up for the glitchiness.
You can browse and purchase them here: https://fancy-fairy-wings-things.myshopify.com/collections/flash-sales

I will have another set of gold veined Cosette wings in my next ready-to-ship sale if the ones currently listed don't sell in the next couple days & I pull the listing. I already have the vinyl vein layer cut & weeded so they need to be made.
I'm thinking I might go with a warm color this time as we head into fall weather, like either the Blush, Poison Apple, or Rose Gold. The Poison Apple would give a nice contrast to the gold veining.
Or should I go for something like Dark Crystal film? What do you think?
